Pando Little School seeks a Preschool Assistant Teacher to work in one of our New Mexico PreK 3- to 5-year-old classrooms.

We are looking for friendly, flexible, and hard working applicants with a demonstrated interest in teaching and prior experience in preschool/ECE. In this position, you will work alongside young children and passionate educators in a beautiful, Reggio Emilia inspired environment, where we encourage free play, project work, and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

- progress towards an associates or higher in ECE or related field.

- 2 or more years of classroom experience.

- Strong communications skills

- Creative problem solver and open to new experiences and perspectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assistant teachers are responsible for collaborating with their classroom’s lead teacher and fellow educators to ensure the school runs smoothly and curricular aims are achieved. Assistants are expected to assume a mentee relationship to their lead teacher, taking on additional levels of responsibility as appropriate.

Assistant Teachers play an essential role as floaters and substitute teachers. Assistant teachers collaborate with their lead teacher to determine planning and prep responsibilities. Assistant teachers participate in weekly curriculum meetings and are welcome to participate in school governance.

Position Hours and Pay

The hours for this position are 8am to 4pm, 4 days a week, with one day ending at 5pm. $16-$20/hr, depending on experience and education.
